Selected Cases from the Last Year
A 20-year-old woman became disabled - A complex case in which the firm represented a woman in her 20s who suffers from mental issues, who was hospitalized several times in open hospital wards despite her mother asking the medical staff to admit her to a closed ward with supervision. During one of the hospitalizations, the young woman swallowed a hand sanitizer and subsequently underwent a gastric lavage. After gastric lavage and hospitalization, she continued to show signs of psychiatric issues. Despite further requests from the mother, the hospital staff continued to refuse to transfer her to a closed ward.
As a result, later in her hospitalization, the patient tried to commit suicide by jumping out of the window, and as a result of this attempt, she became completely disabled. In this case, the firm obtained compensation of approximately NIS5 million from the medical institution and compensation of approximately NIS6 million from the National Insurance.
An entire family fell apart - The firm represented a family that suffered severe physical injuries. Among other things, the mother remained in a vegetative state (a coma) while the father of the family broke almost all the vertebrae of the spine, while having a three-year-old child. Our firm took the case from the very beginning and took care of all the family’s needs. The family received over NIS10 million as compensation from the various insurance companies and the National Insurance Institute.
The firm’s client was injured and left with a permanent disability - The firm represented a client who was seriously injured, and according to an insurance company in the first instance, he was not entitled to any financial compensation. The client arrived at our firm after having received a denial notice, and after intensive negotiation with the insurance company, the client was granted permanent disability in the amount of 19% for the rest of his life. Furthermore, he received a compensation of approximately NIS800,000 on top of the compensation he is entitled to from private insurance and the National Insurance Institute.
Complicated tummy tuck - The firm represented a client who underwent a failed tummy tuck surgery, including a failed liposuction surgery. The doctor performed a series of corrective surgeries, as a result of which the client (Crohn’s-colitis patient) suffered irreversible damage. In addition, as part of the “remedial” surgeries, a change in her genitalia was negligently performed, which created serious problems in the urinary tract. As a result, her medical and mental condition worsened. The firm secured compensation for her in the amount of hundreds of thousands of shekels.
