What are the company’s strongest attributes?
Cymulate embraces change, which is one of the company’s greatest strengths. Our industry is constantly evolving, and we need to make fast and sometimes difficult decisions, with focus on the future, to stay ahead. Many companies of our size struggle with that because the stakes are high, but Cymulate has stayed agile as we’ve scaled, allowing us to capitalize on new opportunities and moments in time. It helps that we have an incredible product that is game changing to companies of all sizes and industries who want to stay secure. To top it all off, the employee culture is full of warmth, fun and good vibes.
Which of the company’s recent key moves will lead to it becoming stronger over the next few years?
Over the past year we’ve hired strong new leaders in nearly every department with vast experience taking companies to the next level. At the same time we’ve doubled-down on an aggressive and innovative product roadmap that is aligned to the changing ways our customers work and think about security validation — making everything simpler and more accessible, consolidating point solutions into a unified platform, and of course leveraging generative AI. This combination of the right people and the right product is very powerful, and giving us major momentum.
What would you recommend to an up-and-coming executive?
Know your strengths, believe in them and play to them. At the same time, be clear about your gaps and communicate those so others can balance you out. It’s much easier to collaborate and build allyship within a team or organization when we know ourselves well and help others to understand us as well. At the manager level, it’s also critical to start building deep experience, a real track record. So I always recommend saying yes to every opportunity, especially if it scares you, because that’s guaranteed growth.
What should one remember during hardships?
I try to remember that most tough periods are finite and can lead to strong bonds and incredible outcomes. Diamonds are formed when unbearably high pressure and temperatures bond atoms into something new and remarkable. The same goes for withstanding difficult times at work — it sharpens and forms you, and as shared experience becomes really meaningful.
Who do you consult with on important professional and business decisions?
I am lucky to have a few close colleagues from the various places I’ve worked who offer great advice and mentorship when I need it. My husband knows me the best, so he always offers important perspective. Increasingly I’m learning to just rely on my own gut instincts.
What are your hobbies?
Being active and outdoors fills my soul. I play a lot of tennis and do yoga, cook for my family and friends, and am trying to learn to keep plants alive.
Where do you see Cymulate in 10 years?
At some point, I’d like to start and lead a company from the ground up. I always have ideas and business plans, but I’ve come to accept that in life timing is everything.
Life Motto
Words are powerful. Try to use them mindfully.
What do you like most about your job?
I love that marketing brings beauty, polish and language to valuable technology, and in that process, makes it accessible to those who should benefit from it. Making that connection is magical.
