Private Practice in Ramat Gan

In addition to his work at the public hospital, the clinic he founded has earned a reputation as one that provides warm and respectful treatment to patients and a high level of professionalism. The clinic is equipped with the most modern equipment for diagnosis and testing in order to optimize planning for cataract surgery. The equipment includes, among other things, a device for computerized refraction testing, a computerized device for measuring intraocular pressure, and a state-of-the-art biometric device, which includes corneal topography. Thus, after the examination, the type of the implanted lens is already known (including cylindrical lenses). Lately, the clinic acquired a sophisticated video system through which the eye examination can be viewed, and various findings documented. The system also includes an infrared-based device for diagnosing and monitoring dry eye disease.

Dr. Avizemer regularly participates in delegations for cataract surgery in third-world countries, primarily in Africa and Asia. These are purely voluntary philanthropic missions, mainly to bring back sight to as many blind people as possible. To be part of these delegations, the most skilled surgeons are chosen, who are able to handle the most complex situations, usually under sub-optimal conditions.
