Dr. Mayer Yaniv

Dr. Yaniv Mayer, residing in Haifa, is a distinguished specialist in periodontal (gum) disease. He serves as the Director of Graduate Periodontology and director of Clinical Research and Innovation at the Department of Periodontology & Implant Dentistry at the Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa. Additionally, he is an assistant Professor at the Technion’s Faculty of Medicine and oversees a clinic dedicated to treating periodontal diseases.

In 2000, Dr. Mayer graduated cum laude from the Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine in Jerusalem. His early career saw him commanding the dental clinic at the Northern Command Headquarters, providing dental care to thousands, including senior officers.

Post his military service, Dr. Mayer undertook four years of advanced study in periodontology and implantology at the Rambam Health Care Campus. Subsequently, he took on a role as a senior physician within the department.

International Recognition and Contributions

Dr. Mayer is recognized as a specialist by both Israel’s Ministry of Health and the European Federation of Periodontology. Additionally, he has cleared the American dentistry certification exams. He’s an active member of several esteemed organizations, including the Israeli Society of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology, and the American Academy of Periodontology.

As a testament to his expertise, Dr. Mayer is a prominent speaker at international conferences, having delivered lectures and hands-on workshops in over 30 countries. His extensive clinical research focused on new technologies and periodontology has resulted in numerous publications, many of which have earned international accolades. Moreover, he has been mentoring interns at the Department of Periodontology and students at the Technion. In 2020, Dr. Mayer chaired the Israeli Society of Periodontology, contributing significantly to its professional advancement. He also leads the Israeli chapter of the International Team for Implantology.

Industry Contributions and Achievements

Dr. Mayer reviews articles for various international journals focused on periodontology and dental implants. He consults with companies on topics concerning implants and bone substitutes and has co-developed several innovations in dental implants.

Over the years, he’s received several awards, notably the Colgate-Palmolive Prize, an excellence prize from Teva Israel, and an award from the European Federation of Periodontology. In 2021, Dun & Bradstreet recognized him as a leading figure in Israeli periodontology. Additionally, Forbes International featured him among the best dentists, and he made the global “Top 100 Dentists” list, underscoring his worldwide acclaim.

The PerioCenter clinic

In 2011, alongside Dr. Eran Gabay, Dr. Mayer founded the PerioCenter Ltd, a center devoted to periodontal dentistry. The clinic, now home to over 20 professionals, offers a broad spectrum of dental and aesthetic treatments and upholds the highest standards set by the Ministry of Health. Regarded as the premier clinic in northern Israel, it attracts patients from all corners of the nation.
