About GE Healthcare Israel

GE HealthCare Israel provides innovative technological solution in the local and global healthcare field, and is a part of the global GE HealthCare company, which specializes in the development and production of advanced medical equipment.
GE HealthCare Israel aspires to improve patients’ quality of life through advancing medical technologies, while focusing on innovation, high quality products, and providing top of the line service to its customers. The company adapts its solutions to the needs of its customers with its vision focusing on development, early detection, and treatment of cancer as its primary goals.

GE HealthCare Israel is a part of General Electric’s long-lasting history in the healthcare industry, which dates back to the 1950s. In Israel, the company began its operation in 1997, with its acquisitions of local companies and the expansion of its activities in the local and global markets.
In Israel, the group has developed several new and innovative products exported to the global market with its most revolutionary being the first of its kind PET/CT device used for oncological simulations, developed by the Israeli group.
Since GE HealthCare Israel is a part of an international company, it takes part in international projects and exports both technologies and solutions to the global markets. The manufacture and distribution are carries out in Israel. The company’s customers include private and public hospitals, clinics, medical institutions, and healthcare organizations in Israel and the world. The financial scope of the company’s activities is about $ 20 billion.
The Israeli company specializes in molecular simulations which helps in many areas, including oncology, cancer detection and mapping, cardiology, neurology, and everything to do with brain research in Israel. Additionally, here we have a facility that develops and manufactures digital detectors for simulators. The Israeli company develops 2 main systems: PET/CT and SPECT/CT, used in the diagnosis of several diseases such as cancer, heart disease, lung disease, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and bone density, among others. Currently, GE HealthCare holds about 55% of the molecular simulations global market in the field of PET/CT and SPECT/CT.

An additional area of expertise is Point of Care Ultrasounds – accessible ultrasound. The Point of Care team in Israel develops innovative ultrasound machines for simulation, diagnostics, and bedside care for the patient wherever they may be – whether its at their bedside, ER, different hospital departments, clinics, or medical facilities. These systems are characterized by precision, providing high quality images, unique user interfaces, groundbreaking AI based automative tools, and high mobility. The systems enable immediate access to high-quality simulation, safe to use for the patient, and easy to operate for the physician. Using these systems allows medical teams to perform immediate, quick, and accurate evaluations and assists doctors with making crucial life-saving decisions as far as patient care is concerned.
The Haifa team has developed the “Venue” ultrasound systems in different shapes - consoles and portable systems that can be used in any environment and enable fast and accurate diagnosis of various medical conditions. The systems are fully equipped with AI-based innovative applications developed by the team. These applications allow unexperienced users to get the most out of the device, using automatic tools that help with acquiring the image, proper positioning, and automatically saving images. Along with tools for performing complex tests with a push of a button that make it possible to diagnose the cause of shock in 90 seconds, to diagnose fluid in the lungs - for adults and children, to measure the cardiac output and to automatically mark different anatomical areas.

During the Covid-19 pandemic crisis, many such devices have been sold due to their user-friendly interface, the ability to sanitize it with ease, and its designated tools which assisted medical teams during diagnostic and care procedures.
Since its establishment is Israel, GE HealthCare positioned a large part of its management in Israel aiming to encourage the local market to create more jobs and move the local medical industry forward, while making it a world-renowned center of excellence in this field. Recently, GE HealthCare decided to move all its development activity of the molecular imaging division - from the USA to Israel, in addition to the SPECT/CT division. The meaning of this decision focuses on further strengthening the value that Israel brings to the medical industry in general and medical imaging for cancer detection in particular. This step is supported by the Innovation Authority on behalf of the Israeli government.
As part of the activities of its Israeli R&D Center in the field of molecular imaging, close scientific collaboration have been formed with the leading research centers and hospitals in Israel, which includes consulting at all stages of the molecular imaging chain, from referral to diagnosis. The nuclear-molecular imaging chain includes diverse stages that require the development of advanced medical technologies and applications.
