About GHG Law Office & Notary

GHG Law Firm and Mediation was established in 2016 by attorney Gili Goldberg Horowitz. The firm deals with tort law, national insurance, insurance claims, and medical malpractice. Attorney Horowitz, who leads the firm, comes from the insurance sector and prior to establishing her private practice, served for over a decade as the manager of the Life Insurance, Health, Provident Fund, and Pension Department and dealt with claims in a leading insurance agency. Her deep understanding of the other side of the fence, as well as her comprehension of the “fine print” in various policies, eases her handling of claims that come to the firm’s door.

Each Client is a Whole World

GHG Law firm specializes in all types of torts claims against insurance companies and the National Insurance, including car accidents, work accidents, occupational diseases, property claims, general disability, work disability, and more. In addition, the office specializes in medical malpractice, durable power of attorney and divorce mediation. Attorney Goldberg Horowitz treats every client who comes to her office, allowing them to heal, recover, and continue living with dignity.

Training and Seminars

In addition to her ongoing work, Attorney Goldberg Horowitz serves as the Deputy Chair of the Hadera branch of the Israel Bar Association and as a member of the Tort Forum and the International Forum at the Bar Association. She also volunteers at Citizen Advisory Service, providing pro bono legal advice to disadvantaged populations. Besides her professional knowledge and extensive experience in torts and insurance, Attorney Goldberg Horowitz keeps up to date with case law and rulings from the courts, deepening her familiarity with the opposing side’s operations.

Among the training and seminars, she has attended over the years, it is worth noting a unique seminar on ‘Assessing Medical Disability in the National Insurance Institute’ - a seminar conducted at the Technion primarily intended for doctors learning about decision-making in the National Insurance Institute’s medical committees. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in law.

Notable Achievements

Traffic Accident Victim Received 225,000 NIS Compensation: A client who was severely injured in a traffic accident and left with a disability. After a long and complex process that began with an initial compensation offer of just 5,000 NIS from the insurance company, the case concluded with 225,000 NIS compensation.

School Aide Injured and Received 110,000 NIS Compensation: A client who worked as a school aide and broke her ankle while working. As a result of the injury, she was determined to have a permanent disability of 10% and received a one-time grant of 30,000 NIS. Additionally, the firm filed another claim against the employer, resulting in an additional payment of 80,000 NIS. In total, the client received 110,000 NIS in compensation.

Loss of Work Capacity Due to Severe Mental Condition: A client who came to the firm in a complex mental state after a difficult divorce and abuse by her partner. Her severe mental state affected her ability to work, and she couldn’t support herself. Given these circumstances, the firm filed a claim for loss of work capacity under the client’s manager’s insurance policy. After a medical committee review, it was confirmed that her mental state was so severe that she was unfit to work. The client received recognition for a two-year work incapacity and exhausted her rights with the National Insurance Institute, receiving a full monthly disability pension.

Endometriosis Patient Received a Monthly Pension of 3,700 NIS and Compensation for Work Incapacity: A client suffering from endometriosis (a relatively common chronic gynecological disease-causing severe pain and bleeding). The client underwent numerous treatments and surgeries, resulting in the loss of her ability to work and earn a living. She turned to the firm, and after a thorough review of the matter and examination of the disease’s implications on her functioning, a claim was filed on her behalf with the National Insurance Institute, which recognized her disability and currently pays her a monthly pension of 3,700 NIS. Additionally, a claim for work incapacity was filed under her manager’s insurance policy, and after this process, she was granted work incapacity for a year. These achievements give hope to women who must face daily pain and medical and psychological symptoms that affect their daily functioning.

Work Injury Victim Received Funding for Medical Cannabis: A client injured in a work accident. After the accident, the client was approved for medical cannabis use due to chronic pain syndrome (CRPS). He applied to his HMO for reimbursement for the cannabis purchase, but the HMO refused, claiming the National Insurance Institute did not recognize CRPS for the claimant. Once the firm got involved, a claim was filed against the National Insurance Institute, and after lengthy litigation, the National Insurance Institute recognized CRPS as part of the work injury. This recognition led to a decision that the HMO would fund the medical cannabis consumption.
