What recent key move did you lead?
I’ve led several key moves over the past year:

  • Founded the Family Crisis Management Institute – a practical training center for lawyers in the field of family law, where we provide practical tools for the management of legal proceedings in family law;
  • Led the fight against false accusations in the police, including raising public awareness for the issue;
  • The move for reducing the usage of Instruction 2.5 in the framework of fighting the false accusations

What are the firm's strongest attributes?
Following the experience with my clients and also my personal experience from my divorce process, I developed a model for the most effective management of a divorce – family crisis management with the D-MVP method (Divorce in the Most Valuable Process):

This is a 5-stages holistic process, during which a crisis management strategy is constructed, with personal customization to the client’s goals and personality structure, with cooperation of emotional-psychological professionals.

First Stage – the client receives 10 meetings with a psychology-emotional professional at the firm’s behalf, from the overall perspective that this is a crisis and not just a “technical separation” between spouses.

Second stage – The professional maps the situation, the emotional condition and the needs of the client.

Third Stage – The optimal strategy for the management of the divorce process is derived from the emotional analysis: what I call “A personality-based strategy”.

Fourth Stage – The out-of-court tactic is constructed and managed.

Fifth Stage – the court proceeding is constructed and managed in order to provide a complete and comprehensive solution for the client.
The method is based on three fundamental principles:

  1. Divorce is a crisis that should be managed wisely.
  2. People ripen to divorce agreements in varying stages and manners.
  3. Handling the legal aspect of the divorce is not enough. An effective treatment requires also a treatment of the emotional aspect and a comprehensive perspective.

Which of the firm's recent key moves will lead to it becoming stronger over the next few years?

  1. The development of the unique method for handling the divorce crisis: D-MVP, which provides the firm (and its clients in particular) with an advantage over other firms in the segment.
  2. The founding of the Family Crisis Management Institute.
  3. An overall view of the big picture with attention to the emotional and general needs of all of the involved parties, from an honest examination and the knowledge that even excellent and tough businessmen and reputable politicians undergo a difficult personal crisis during separations.

What are the main challenges facing the firm in the next few years?
The goal is to brand the firm as one of the top five boutique firms in the segment in Israel.

What would you recommend an up and coming executive?
Only after I founded my own firm I realized that Law School doesn’t teach you how to be a manager, and therefore I recommend the managers of law firms at the beginning of their path to dedicate the time for developing a business strategy in parallel to the legal background. This is the management of a business for all intents and purposes, and no one is preparing the law graduates for handling all of the implications of business administration in Israel. Not every excellent lawyer is also a good manager. Get business consulting, whether if personally or through practical courses, in order to be able to manage the business and be a lawyer.

What should one remember during hardships?
We would always have crises, and they would be difficult and frustrating. The way we treat and handle are crises would determine whether we would crash or grow. The problem is never the problem. The problem is our attitude towards the problem. This is true both for the management of a divorce as a crisis and for the management of our personal and professional crises.
