Prof. David Gordon, Urogynecologist

Prof. David Gordon is a pelvic floor repair specialist and a senior physician in the Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Unit of Ichilov Hospital, a position in which he has been serving since the establishment of the unit more than 20 years ago. He also has a private clinic in the Weizmann Center Tower in Tel Aviv, and he serves as a clinical associate professor in the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of the Medicine Faculty of Tel Aviv University.

In his private clinic, Prof. David Gordon provides a variety of obstetrics and gynecology treatments and is a participating provider of the complementary insurances of the HMOs and private insurances. In addition, he consults, diagnoses, treats and performs surgeries in numerous patients in the hospitals: Assuta in Ramat HaHayal and Raphael in Park Atidim, performing hundreds of surgeries in his practice areas annually.

Main Areas of Practice

Prof. Gordon’s areas of practice in the hospitals and in his clinic include: gynecological surgeries, uterine prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic prolapse repair and colposuspension, advanced treatments for overactive bladder syndrome, vaginal cosmetic surgeries and labiaplasty, vaginal wall and bladder prolapse repair surgeries and conservative treatments for a wide range of uro-gynecological problems. Prof. Gordon also practices and treats all of the general gynecology fields including ovarian cysts, menstrual bleeding disorders, contraceptives and menopause.

Academic and Professional Background

Prod. David Gordon graduated from the Medicine School of Tel Aviv University and performed his gynecology and obstetrics residency in the Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv. After his residency he proceeded to a fellowship in urogynecology and pelvic floor in London, under Prof. Stuart Stanton, who is considered to be the foremost specialist and the pioneer of urogynecology. Over the years, he was a senior partner in the foundation of the Israeli Uro-Gynecology Society, served as its first chairperson, and as one of its board members for 12 years.

Member of Professional Associations and Popular Lecturer in Conventions in Israel and Abroad

In the framework of his term Prof. Gordon headed the convention of the International Continence Society in Jerusalem in 1998 and co-authored with Dr. Ilan Ziv the book “Urinary Incontinence in Women” which was published by Prolog. He participates in professional conventions in Israel and abroad and is a member of several professional associations: The Israel Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Israel Society of Uro-Gynecology and Pelvic Floor, International Incontinence Society, International Uro-Gynecological Association, and the Israel Medicine Association.
