About Prof. Moti Haim
Prof. Moti Haim is a specialist in Cardiology and treatment of Cardiac Arrhythmia, and serve as the director of the cardiac electrophysiology and pacing unit in the cardiology department at Soroka medical center.
Prof. Haim is treating patients with various heart problems, with emphasis on Arrhythmia and rhythm disturbances – both medical treatment and by performing catheter ablation of different types of Arrhythmia such as Atrial fibrillation, Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), Atrial Flutter, and Ventricular arrhythmias. In Addition, Prof. Haim implants pacemakers and automatic defibrillators. These procedures are performed by him in Soroka medical center, and privately in Assuta Medical Center in Ramat HacHayal, Herzliya Medical Center and Raphael hospital. In addition he is actively evaluating and treating athletes with arrhythmia.
Prof. Haim has graduated from the Sackler Faculty of Medicine in Tel-Aviv University and specialized in internal medicine at Meir Hospital, in Kfar Saba. Prof. Haim did his Cardiology training at Beilinson hospital, Rabin Medical Center.
In 2005-2007 Prof. Haim underwent advanced training in electrophysiology and pacemakers in Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, affiliated to Harvard University in Boston, United States, and in 2007-2008 has undergone further training in Advanced Cardiac Pacing and Device Therapy in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, affiliated to Tufts University, in Boston, United States.
Upon his return to Israel and to Rabin Medical Center – Prof. Haim was appointed as service manager to electrophysiology, in Rabin Medical Center, and served in this position between 2008-2012. In 2013 he founded and served as the first manager of the electrophysiology unit in Meir Medical Center. From 2014, he is the director of electrophysiology and pacing in Soroka Medical Center.
Prof. Haim is a cardiology professor at the faculty of Health Sciences in Ben-Gurion University. He served as board member and secretary of the working group of electrophysiology and pacing in the Israeli Cardiology Association (2011-2015), and from 2022 as chairman of this working group
Prof. Haim is a member of the sports cardiology forum of the Israeli cardiology association and treats athletes with arrhythmia. Additionally, he is an active member of the European cardiology association, and the European Heart Rhythm association.
Prof. Haim is involved in research in the field of heart failure, inflammation and heart disease, atrial fibrillation, treatment of arrhythmia, pacemakers, automatic defibrillators, and ablation of arrhythmia, and is the author of multiple academic publications.
