Dr. Amin Abu Jabal
Senior Physician and Deputy Head Department of Plastic Surgery Galilee Medical Center
Dr. Amin Abu Jabal
About Dr. Amin Abu Jabal
Dr. Amin Abu Jabal is a Senior Physician and Deputy Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Galilee Medical Center. He is regarded as one of Israel’s leading experts in plastic surgery and reconstructive microsurgery. For nearly two decades, he has treated some of the most complex cases in reconstructive medicine, including head and neck reconstruction, breast reconstruction following tumor removal, upper and lower limb reconstruction after trauma or complex diseases, and corrective surgery for congenital deformities in children. Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Abu Jabal serves as Chairman of the Israeli Society for Microsurgery, a role that reflects his professional standing and his contribution to advancing the field in Israel. His combination of extensive surgical experience, international training, and a patient-centered approach that views every case as unique has established him as one of the leading figures in reconstructive microsurgery in Israel.
Professional Experience
Dr. Abu Jabal began his medical career over two decades ago after graduating from medical school in 2003. Throughout his professional career, he has gained extensive experience treating patients requiring complex reconstruction following oncological diseases, severe trauma, accidents, and congenital anomalies. His work combines the highest level of surgical precision with a multidisciplinary approach, enabling him to tailor the most appropriate treatment for each patient according to their medical condition and individual needs.
His primary expertise is in reconstructive microsurgery - an advanced field of plastic surgery that enables complex reconstruction through the connection of tiny blood vessels and nerves under a microscope. Within this specialty, he performs breast reconstruction after mastectomy, upper and lower limb reconstruction following complex injuries or tumor resections, as well as a wide range of additional reconstructive procedures. Simultaneously, as part of his hospital practice, he also treats children with congenital deformities, including cleft lip and cleft palate, while his private practice also includes plastic and aesthetic surgery.
Alongside his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Abu Jabal serves as Deputy Head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, where he leads professional initiatives in reconstructive surgery. He also serves as Chairman of the Israeli Society for Microsurgery, promoting the advancement of the specialty in Israel, encouraging professional collaboration, and supporting the implementation of advanced knowledge and technologies within the medical community.
Education and Professional Training
Dr. Abu Jabal earned his medical degree from the University of Damascus and subsequently passed the Israeli Ministry of Health licensing examinations. He completed his internship at Hadassah Medical Center before specializing in Plastic Surgery at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov), where he completed his residency with distinction and became board-certified in Plastic Surgery. He then pursued advanced fellowship training in reconstructive microsurgery in Italy at one of the leading centers in the field, where he acquired extensive experience in innovative techniques for tissue, head and neck, breast, and limb reconstruction. His professional education in Israel and Europe, combined with many years of clinical experience, enables him to offer his patients a broad range of treatment options based on the latest medical knowledge and technological advances.
Research, Professional Activity, and Medical Leadership
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Abu Jabal places great importance on advancing the fields of plastic surgery and microsurgery in Israel. As Chairman of the Israeli Society for Microsurgery, he actively promotes professional education, collaboration among medical centers, and the implementation of advanced treatment approaches. Over the years, he has participated in professional training programs in Israel and abroad, attended medical conferences, and taken part in multidisciplinary discussions. He remains continuously updated on scientific and technological developments in his field. In his view, professional excellence requires lifelong learning, knowledge sharing, and an unwavering commitment to improving patient outcomes.
Personalized Patient Care
According to Dr. Abu Jabal, one of the greatest challenges in reconstructive medicine is recognizing that no single solution fits every patient. Each individual presents a unique medical history, personal background, and treatment goals, making a personalized treatment plan essential. This philosophy is reflected from the earliest stages of surgical planning, where all available treatment options are carefully evaluated, from selecting the most appropriate surgical technique to choosing the technologies and equipment best suited to each individual case. In his view, professional decision-making extends beyond selecting the surgical procedure itself; it requires a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s overall condition and the approach that will best restore optimal function. Dr. Abu Jabal also emphasizes that recovery does not end when the patient leaves the operating room. He places great importance on supporting patients throughout the recovery process, believing that careful medical follow-up, attentive listening, and consideration of patients’ emotional well-being are integral to successful treatment. In his opinion, the best outcomes are achieved when patients receive both outstanding medical care and compassionate human support.
