Dr. Ariel Tessone

Dr. Ariel Tessone is the Secretary General of the Israel Society of Plastic Surgeons, former chairperson of the Plastic Surgery Exams Committee of the Israel Medical Association, and former Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery Department of the Sheba Medical Center, where he currently heads the breast surgery practice from both the aesthetical and reconstructive aspects.
Dr. Tessone graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Tel Aviv University in 2004, completed his plastic surgery residency in the Sheba Medical Center in 2011 and completed a 1-year fellowship in breast reconstruction, oncoplastic surgery and microsurgery in the National Cancer Institute (INT) in Milan, in 2012.
Dr. Ariel Tessone served in the IDF as an Armored Corps officer and was honorably discharged at the rank of a captain.
He graduated the Talpiot Sheba Program for healthcare leadership. The program brings together excelling doctors from all fields of medicine, who are selected after a meticoulous screening process. The program’s duration is about 10 years.
Dr. Tessone constantly remains abreast and trains in innovative cutting-edge surgical techniques, which he pioneers in his surgeries in the Plastic Surgery Department of Sheba and in the private operations that he performs.
He was awarded the title of excellent Lecturer by the Faculty of Medicine of TAU, where he serves as a senior clinical lecturer, on the basis of his lectures on breast reconstruction, and won the 2013 Outstanding Research Paper in the annual convention of the Israel’s plastic surgeon.
Dr. Ariel Tessone is renowned among his peers in the global healthcare community as a leader in microsurgery, a recognition that earns him regular invitations to speak in international conventions on microsurgery. He is invited to speak as a guest in international medical conventions in the fields of plastic surgery in general and breast reconstruction in particular. He has lectured consistently in every convention of the Israel Society of Plastic Surgeons, and in 2019 he served as the chairperson of the annual convention.
Dr. Tessone mentors and trains doctors in Israel and abroad in the field of aesthetical medicine on behalf of Ipsen, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. He was selected by Ipsen to be a member of an exclusive international group of doctors who consult the company about its product development strategy.
Dr. Ariel Tessone is a member of the Israeli, American and international societies of plastic and aesthetical surgeons.
Dr. Ariel Tessone has vast experience in breast reconstruction surgery. He accumulated extensive experience in oncoplastic surgery, which consist mainly of reconstruction after partial mastectomies. He also accumulated vast experience in microsurgery in general and breast reconstruction microsurgery in particular.
Oncoplastic surgery is a broad field, which covers very diverse options for restoring and improving breast appearance. These options range from basic oncoplastic surgery, through advanced oncoplastic surgery and up to oncoplastic microsurgery.
In order to acquire the ability to perform oncoplastic surgery, a surgeon must have proficiency in breast cosmetic surgery and be familiar with all of the methods for improving the appearance of breasts, including breast reduction, breast lifts and breast augmentation, and all of the various methods within all of these procedures.
Microsurgery enables the surgeon to handle extreme cases and achieve results that standard techniques are unable to accomplish.
Microsurgeons connect veins, nerves, arteries and other structures with sizes of a few millimeters and even less. Microsurgery requires dedicated equipment including a microscope, especially fine surgical instruments, and unique surgical technical capabilities which are specific for the field of microsurgery. A microsurgeon requires extraordinary proficiency in every aspect of anatomy, including nerves, veins, arteries, lymph vessels, muscles, skeletal tissues (bones and cartilage), skin, fat and fascia. He must also possess the qualities of composure and patience, and the ability to handle extreme scenarios which may occur during surgery and hinder the progress of the surgery, and must be identified and dealt with quickly and accurately.
To date, Dr. Ariel Tessone has performed hundreds of microsurgery procedures and thousands of breast reconstruction procedures. He has vast experience in complex cases that require breast reconstruction through advanced oncoplastic techniques. Owing to his extensive experience and considerable capabilities in the microsurgery field, he is able to incorporate microsurgery techniques into complex oncoplastic surgery, thus achieving better surgical results.
Owing to Dr. Tessone skills in the field of microsurgery, a field which requires a high level of surgical proficiency and great accuracy, he is able to perform a wider range of aesthetic surgery procedures, achieve a higher level in his aesthetic procedures, and as a result a better cosmetic result.
