Dr. Yariv Goldstein

Dr. Yariv Goldstein is a top Israeli shoulder surgeon. He serves as the director of the Shoulder Unit of Assuta Ashdod University Hospital, and also operates a private clinic in Ramat Aviv Mall in Tel Aviv. Dr. Goldstein offers a wide range of shoulder treatments and surgeries, including tendon tear repairs, partial, total and reversed shoulder replacements, complex shoulder reconstruction surgeries, joint reduction and correction of shoulder instability, surgical fixation of humerus and collarbone fractures, balloon arthroplasties, treatment of sport injuries, acromioclavicular joint reconstructions, and combined treatment with acids and proteins transit platelet-rich plasma. 

Dr. Goldstein also performs fast radiation-free ultrasound exams in his private and innovative clinic, and interprets them immediately. These examinations provide extensive information and offer comprehensive insights on the condition and functionality of the shoulder, and support prompt decisions. In addition to the distinct advantage of having the scan performed and interpreted by a shoulder specialist, this approach also spares the patient the time and inconvenience of visiting an external imaging center. In the framework of his public and private healthcare practice, Dr. Goldstein performs the full range of surgeries which are currently available for shoulder patients. Surgeries are performed via an arthroscopic, open or hybrid approach, as required. 

Education and Clinical Experience

Dr. Goldstein is a graduate of the Technion’s faculty of medicine. After his graduation, he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery in Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv. He earned the nationwide top score in his orthopedic specialist certification exam.

In 2012-2013, he completed a fellowship program in Nice, France, where he learned and worked with the world’s best shoulder surgeons, including Prof. Pascal Boileau, a world-renown expert on shoulder surgery who inspired Dr. Goldstein. Under Prof. Boileau’s guidance, Dr Goldstein has gained extensive experience in advanced surgical techniques and innovative approaches to addressing complex shoulder conditions. Upon his return to Israel, he started working as a senior physician in the Shoulder Unit of the Ichilov Hospital, where he worked for several years. When the public hospital “Assuta” Ashdod was established, Dr. Goldstein played a pivotal role as one of the founding members of its orthopedic department. He also founded the shoulder surgery unit, which he continues to lead to this day.

Research and Teaching

Dr. Goldstein is involved in clinical research in his practice areas and teaches and educates residents, interns and nursing staff, inter alia, in the Ben Gurion University. In addition, he serves as a consultant and surgeon in the wildlife hospital in the Safari, in complex orthopedic cases.
Dr. Goldstein led groundbreaking research in the treatment of damage after dislocations and is currently conducting innovative clinical research in the field of treating tendons that cannot be repaired.

Membership in Professional Associations

As a senior physician, Dr. Goldstein is a member of various societies and associations in Israel and abroad: The Israel Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, the Israel Society of Sports Medicine, the European Society for Surgery of the Shoulder and the Elbow, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. In 2025 he passed with great success an exam for certification as a shoulder surgeon on behalf of the European Society of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery.
