About Itay Bar Oz Law Firm

The law firm was established in 2008 and deals only in criminal law and its different facets. Over the years, Adv. Bar Oz has accumulated extensive experience in representing thousands of criminal cases of all types and in all courts, as well as extensive professional knowledge in the field of evidence law and substantive criminal law - a combination that has led to exceptional results that speak for themselves. The firm specializes in representation in criminal cases that include charges of offenses under the law on combating criminal organizations, homicide offences, drug offenses, violent offenses, and cyber offenses. The firm has accumulated extensive experience in dealing with and representing clients in “mega cases” – particularly complex serious crime cases in which the investigative material includes hundreds of binders.

World-View

When a person is suspected or accused of criminal offenses, he finds himself in an unusual and almost impossible situation. The entire country and its authorities are against him. The police, the prison service, the courts. A detained person loses his natural right for freedom, for communication with the environment and the criminal lawyer remains his “only friend” against the system. In such situations, it is very important to have an uncompromising personal and professional accompaniment, a cold and informed analysis of the situation and a detailed and clear explanation at every stage of the criminal proceeding.

A criminal investigation requires comprehensive accompaniment from the pre-interrogation counseling stage, strategy formulation - a qualifying line of defense and planning a tactic to implement it already in the first interrogation. The accompaniment continues with a request to close a case or at a hearing, representation and appearance in court if the indictment is filed, conducting a full evidentiary process, including the examination of witnesses if necessary or an attempt to reach a plea bargain to minimize damages if there is no possibility of managing the case. In each of the situations described, the firm has had a lot of experience and has brought excellent results.

The Firm’s Clients

The firm represented activists for the legalization of cannabis, such as Amos Dov Silver, who was accused of managing the criminal organization “Telegrass” and allegedly carrying out more than 200,000 drug transactions. Nir “The Angel” Yoftaro, that in his case, an appeal was accepted and the actual prison sentence was canceled. Mickey “The Angel” Chen who was accused of growing cannabis at home and finished the process with a lenient result. The firm represented Yitzhak Abergil, who was convicted of running a criminal organization in Case 512, in the case of that was filed against him due to threats against the plaintiff in Case 512, as well as in the parole board and other matters.

The firm has represented and continues to represent the Abu Latif brothers in various serious crime cases - Suleiman Abu Latif, who was suspected of murder and was released without charge. The firm also represented the person of “The Black Billion” affair of being the deputy of Nidal Abu Latif, who was himself accused of running a criminal organization and committing offenses by threats and money laundering amounting to about NIS 2 billion, and in the “Fraudsters’ Monopoly” affair, where Latif Abu Latif was charged with attempted murder in a restaurant and ended with the charge being amended to aggravated assault and a relatively lenient sentence. Adv. Bar Oz previously represented Shimon Cooper, who was nicknamed “The Double Widower” after “Uvda”, the television show investigation led to the opening of an investigation and the prosecution of two murder charges, and many other murder cases that ended without a life sentence (brutal murder and burning of the body in Petah Tikva, lynching murder in Netanya, murder by shooting in Sukkot 2021 in Petah Tikva, the case of the murder of the nephew and his burial in Tayibe).
