About Prof. David Hazzan

Prof. David Hazzan is the director of the Raphael Hospital’s Bariatric Center and specializes in general, laparoscopic, robotic, and bariatric surgeries. He performs surgical procedures at both Raphael Hospital and Assuta Hospital in Tel-Aviv.
Prof. Hazzan served as the Director of the Invasive Microbial and Robotic Surgery Unit at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.
Prof. Hazzan Founded the minimally invasive unit at Carmel medical center in Haifa.

Extensive Clinical Experience

Prof. Hazzan’s clinical background is varied; he graduated from the medical school of Venezuela’s top university, José Maria Vargas; he completed general surgery residency and minimally invasive surgery fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York and the Carmel Medical Center in Haifa; he also completed fellowships in robotic surgery in Ghent, Belgium, and Strasbourg, France.

Prof. Hazzan is a member of a number of associations and societies, such as the Israeli General Surgery Society, the Israeli Endoscopic Surgery Society, the European Hernia Society, the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Israel Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, and the Israeli Society of Hernia and AWR surgery.
