About Sharon Inbar, Attorney and Mediator

Sharon Inbar is a leading and seasoned lawyer and mediator, with more than 27 years of experience in the fields of family law and marital status. She started her professional career in the Tel Aviv Family Court, where she managed the legal department for about 10 years. In the framework of this role, she developed the mediation practice in the court, both in the framework of mediations by lawyers from the department and in the framework of mediations in collaboration with the social workers from the assistance unit. During this decade, she led many hundreds of diverse mediation cases and supervised the lawyers who reported to her.

Family Mediation and Counsel and Complementary Legal Services

In 2008, she opened her own firm in Kiryat Ono, where she provides family mediation and counsel services and complementary legal services such as drafting family agreements – divorce agreements, marital agreements, marital harmony or divorce agreements (contingency agreement), parenting agreements, agreements between family members and co-habitation agreements. She also mentors mediators (personal and professional mentoring through guidance sessions before and after the mediation sessions) and drafts wills, mediates in inheritance disputes and prepares lasting power of attorney.

A Broad Toolbox, Both Legal and Therapeutic

By education, Adv. Sharon Inbar has an LL.B. from the College of Management and an LL.M. from Bar Ilan University. She also completed her studies as a couples and family therapist in the framework of Bar Ilan University’s Social Work School continuing studies program. She also completed diverse professional trainings in family law and mediation and is a certified “collaborative divorce” mediator. She lectures in Bar Ilan University’s Social Work School continuing studies program. The broad toolbox that she accumulated over the years, both legal and therapeutic, enables her to manage every dispute with remarkable sensitivity and a nuanced understanding of the dynamics of the core and extended family, facilitating a dignified and constructive resolution of the family or couple dispute.

Mediations that are Managed by a Lawyer

Adv. Inbar’s legal experience plays a pivotal role in the mediation process, as she can reflect to both parties the legal alternatives of the entire spectrum of options, including the downfalls and risks of each option. Furthermore, the agreements that she drafts are legal apartments which are submitted to the court and made legally binding.

The Firm’s Mediation Methodology

Adv. Inbar starts all of her mediations with a joint session, where she gets acquainted with both parties, analyzes their goals and conducts an alignment of expectations both with each other and with her as the mediator. Afterwards, separate depth sessions are conducted with each of the parties in order to expose all of the emotions and the most significant interests of each of the parties. Adv. Inbar’s maturity and deep professional understanding enables her to reach a list of agreements which is optimal for all of the parties, which is sometimes accompanied by a mediation proposal which is presented at the most accurate and appropriate timing. Beyond pure family matters, most of the firm’s mediations include a thorough coverage of financial, real estate and business (when one or more of the spouses own commercial companies) issues, and more. In such cases, Adv Inbar engages a network of external experts, including leading economists and actuaries. Owing to her proven track record, many clients seek her services based on word-of-mouth recommendations, as well as referrals from attorneys, courts, and therapists who direct couples to her for mediation.

Creative Thinking the Leads to Agreements and Compromises

In her private firm, Adv. Inbar handles diverse mediation and counsel cases, including cases where the partners lack trust in one another. In more than a few cases, these are situations where one of the spouses has a successful tech career or commercial company, in other cases one of spouses owned properties prior to the wedding. In such cases, the complexity stems from a sense of one of the spouses that he/she isn’t seen by the other and is offered an unfair division of properties. Adv. Inbar’s creative thinking shines in such complex cases, creating agreed-upon compromises that protect the relationship for the benefit of the family and the children. In other cases, such as cases where the parties are hesitant about dissolving the family, Adv. Inbar drafts contingency agreements (marital harmony or divorce) that offer spouses the assurance that in the case of a future divorce, they will know exactly where they are headed and how the shared assets and parental responsibility would be divided.
