Notable Projects

Light rail works in Jerusalem: The works included tunneling and bridging, shaft excavation, removal of a building designated for preservation without compromising its intended purpose, construction of a bus parking area and development works in an extremely dense urban area, including the paving of a one-of-a-kind street in Israel in architectural terms. Shoham is currently executing an infrastructure project for the light rail in central Jerusalem. Despite the difficulties, Shoham has worked and continues to work to maintain freedom of movement and minimize the impact on the lives of residents and businesses in the work area.

Sports Complex, Jerusalem: In this complex, which is located near Teddy Stadium and Pais Arena, Shoham executed a project to excavate a 240-meter tunnel for the light rail. Above the tunnel, an urban park with an area of about 30 dunams was established, with walking and cycling trails. In addition, Shoham built a designed architectural building that includes outdoor and indoor tennis courts, squash and judo courts and a commercial center.

Construction works in the Western Wall plaza: Among the projects Shoham executed for the Western Wall Heritage Foundation was the expansion of Strauss House in the northern part of the plaza. On an area of about 1,500 square meters, a yeshiva, a ritual bath, public restrooms serving the Western Wall plaza and a police station were built. Shoham also built Strauss House in the Western Wall plaza to a high standard of construction, while addressing the challenges of archaeological preservation on the basement level. Shoham further executed the construction of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation building on a massive 400-ton steel structure. The works included the preservation of archaeological findings in the antiquities area and the preparation of the site for visitor tours.

As part of the support and roofing works in the Western Wall plaza, the lower tourism and archaeological level was prepared, infrastructure for the elevator to the Western Wall plaza was installed, and complex works were carried out in the Western Wall tunnels, including the construction of an underground synagogue. All of this was carried out under the limitations of construction in an archaeological area.

Paving and development works at the entrance and center of Jerusalem: Shoham executed paving and development works in central Jerusalem and at the entrance to the city, as well as numerous public open-space development works in Gan Sacher, the Valley of the Cross, the Rose Garden, Rupin Boulevard, the neighborhoods of Pisgat Ze’ev and Har Homa, and more.

Bridges, infrastructure and development works in the project of the entryways to the 1000 Complex in Rishon LeZion: Shoham is executing works to build three bridges above Ayalon Highway – a 350-meter pedestrian bridge made of steel combined with concrete and including escalators and unique architectural elements; an exit bridge from the 1000 Complex connecting to Ayalon South; construction of a new loop ramp; construction of a bridge as an extension of Rabin Bridge; and expansion of the service road. The works are carried out in an urban area, above active intercity roads and adjacent to Israel Railways tracks. Their engineering and execution complexity requires rapid execution while maintaining careful and precise work. Shoham’s unique and advanced capabilities enable it to execute these works with great success.

Construction of Road 22 and bridges connecting Har Hotzvim to Ramat Shlomo Interchange in Jerusalem: The project includes the construction of three bridges, including a 200-meter bridge over Nahal Zofim, built using the balanced cantilever method. In addition, Shoham is constructing retaining walls, an underground pedestrian passage, embankments for new roads and connecting sections to existing roads and bridges, and carrying out final development works.

Road 60 regulation and widening works: Shoham is executing works to widen Road 60 in the Elazar–Neve Daniel section and the Husan–HaShayarot section. The project includes the construction of retaining walls using various methods, including rock anchors and reinforced soil, underground drainage crossings, infrastructure works, road paving and landscape development.
