The Partners, Adv. Michael Bach and Adv. Ron

Some of the firm’s achievements in class action proceedings over the past few years include: Winning in the application for certifying a class action in the sum of 5B NIS against the IEC in the District Court and the Supreme Court on behalf of all of the population of Israel; Winning a class action against leading insurance companies for all types of policies that they market, on the grounds of their policy not to add interest to the insurance payments; Winning a class certification application against the German Volkswagen Corp. and Champion Motors due to the “Diesel Gate Affair”, one of the most significant fraud affairs in the history of the automobile industry; Winning a class certification application against two large factories of ICL Group with regard to the contamination of the Ein Boqek natural reserve; Winning a class certification application against Hot, which lead to a compromise agreement in which Hot will compensate the class in an amount of Million NIS 153; A settlement with a car manufacturer and the importer due to a defect in the timing belts of the class vehicles, at the sum of dozens of millions NIS; A settlement with a car manufacturer and the importer due to a safety defect in the class vehicles’ clutch pedal, which risked the lives of the car owners; A settlement with one of the largest banks due to forbidden charges on securities trading, under which the bank committed to return more than 10M NIS to the public; A settlement with one of Israel’s largest telecommunication companies for a faulty service that it provided in the field of internet and offensive content filtering, under which the company committed to return 12M NIS to the public; A settlement in a class action due to antitrust violations with regard to the bakeries cartel, under which the defendants committed to return 12M NIS to the public;; Winning several class certification applications against cellular companies in the context of charging their customers without receiving their consent; Winning a class action against the Israeli Postal Company due to excessive tariff that was imposed on the public; A settlement with a car manufacturer and importer for a serial safety defect in the car’s suspension system that caused wheel detachment during driving under which the safety defect was addresses, and more.

The Partners

Adv. Michael Bach Was admitted to the Israel Bar Association in 1994; Has an LL.B. from Tel Aviv University (1993), and an LL.M. with “Commercial Law” specialization from Tel Aviv University (1998). Adv. Bach has vast litigation experience in all civilcommercial law fields with a particular specialization in class actions, derivative actions and struggle of control between shareholders in the areas of insolvency and companies’ liquidations and in public law litigation. Adv. Bach also serves as a mediator, arbitrator and notary, and served as a presiding judge in the disciplinary court of the Israeli Bar Association Tel Aviv’s District. Adv. Bach lectures on civil commercial law and class actions in various forums and academic institutes.
Adv. Ron Lederman Was admitted to the Israel Bar Association in 2007; has an LL.B. (cum laude) from Tel Aviv University, 2006 and a B.A., Economics from Tel Aviv University. Adv. Lederman has longstanding professional experience in litigation in all civil commercial law fields with a particular specialization in class and derivative actions and banking. Adv. Lederman lectures on class actions in various forums and academic institutes.
