Describe a recent meaningful move led by you.
I recently represented the Israeli company Espresso Club in a precedent-setting lawsuit filed in the District Court of Tel Aviv by the global food giant Nestle and its subsidiary Nespresso Israel. The plaintiffs alleged copyright infringement, trademark violations, unfair competition, and damage to reputation, following the launch of an advertising campaign featuring a George Clooney lookalike. The Court rejected Nespresso’ claim in full and accepted the defense arguments presented by Barnea The Court further ruled that Espresso Club did not violate any trademarks belonging to Nespresso. This ruling defines, in many ways for the first time, the limits of "fair competition" and blocks powerful entities like Nespresso from exploiting their power to block competition.

The firm continues to expand at an exciting rate. It is both recruiting new lawyers to existing departments and adding departments in order to provide its clients with comprehensive legal advisory services in all their spheres of business. Over the last year, our firm has grown by 100%, and we currently employ over 70 lawyers.
