Who are we?
“Yenon – Research & Design Ltd.” is one of Israel’s leading civil engineering companies, providing interdisciplinary engineering services for a wide variety of projects in the infrastructure sector: Roads, Heavy Rails, Light Rails, Airports, Naval Ports, Urban Planning and Development, Study and Research. Our approach is to produce a holistic design with the most creative and innovative results from the economic, environmental and aesthetic points of view.
Yenon was established in 1977 by Joseph Yenon and has been playing a significant role in Israel’s infrastructure development ever since – from the firm’s early works of urban and rural development, through design of national transportation infrastructure projects such as highways & intersections, heavy railways, bridges & roadway structures, and up to recent years’ interdisciplinary design in the field of light rail infrastructure in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and the Gush Dan Metro
Finest Human Resources
Yenon’s team consists of approximately 180 employees including the finest and most skilled engineers, architects, surveyors, project managers, and administrative staff. The firm invests major resources in ongoing in-house professional training to familiarize the staff with the latest innovations in design and technology while emphasizing the importance of teamwork in design, implementation, and service. Likewise, the company invests in the world’s most advanced technological systems for engineering and 3D software, also in ongoing organizational consulting for all management and reserve lines. In 1995, the firm was among the first to receive an ISO 9001 certification. Yenon is a member of the Israel Green Building Council (ILGBC), thus continuing to consolidate the company’s world view about planning.
The company’s clients include: Israel National Roads Company, Trans Israel, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Housing and Construction, Ports Authority and Israel Railways, The Airports Authority, Ashdod Port Authority, Israel Lands Authority, NTA Metropolitan Mass Transit System Ltd, Ministry of Transport, JTMT Jerusalem, Municipalities and Local Authorities, and a wide range of private Israeli and international companies.
Overcoming the Most Complex Challenges
Since its foundation, the company has completed over 3,200 projects. Projects include highways, Interchanges, and railways as well as bridges and tunnels, port facilities and container terminals, marinas, shopping centers, industrial zones, military bases and facilities, water supply, drainage and sewage, earthworks and soil support, etc.
Highways: The firm designed hundreds of interurban roads including interchanges, intersections, bridges, and tunnels.
Notable projects: Highway 65 – Dovrat/Gloani Section including the Kfar Tavor Bypass; Hawara Bypass Road; Road 75 Nahalal-Yafia; Beit Interchange, Jerusalem – connecting Rd. 16 with Begin Rd.; Road 2 – Caesaria Interchange; Shapirim Parking Lot; Fast Lanes Parking Lot, Rishon LeZion.
Transportation & Traffic: Consultation, design and research services, including analysis of urban and local transport systems, transportation impact study, master plans, overall traffic design for motor vehicles, public transportation, compiling diverse guidelines for the Ministry of Transportation, urban and interurban traffic light design, and parking lot design.
Notable projects: Shapirim parking lot expansion; Preferred traffic lights in Jerusalem; Yavne East neighborhood (12,000 housing units); The Military Intelligence Complex.
Mass Transport (Railways and LRT): The firm is one of Israel’s leading providers of track infrastructure design. The firm’s engineers act as lead designers in projects through the design and construction stages.
Notable projects: Metro line M3; preliminary and statutory planning of the coastal railways project TTL 65 – the Haifa railway and the Netanya-Shfayim railway; Fourth rail along the Ayalon; third and fourth railways in the Shfayim – Herzliya section, including the Shfayim railway station; Eastern railway – Section B – Netanya – Kfar Saba; Eastern Railway – Airport City – Ashdod; The Jerusalem Light Rail - the Blue Line underground section, Eastern Rail; Tel - Aviv Light Railway - Green line southern section; Tel - Aviv Light Railway - Purple line systems; The Red Line At-Grade section in Petach Tikva; Haifa - Nazareth Light Rail Line.
Structures: Bridges, tunnels, agricultural passages, water conduits, retaining walls, acoustic walls and more. The team consists of approximately 30 experienced engineers and practical engineers.
Landscape and Structural Architecture: The team supports architectural, environmental and design aspects of projects while formulating an overall planning concept to best fit the environment and nature. The team consists of 15 landscape architects and structural architects and practical architects.
Surveys: Licensed surveyors, field teams and practical engineers perform terrain surveys, horizontal and vertical control networks for GPS points using the latest geodetic technology.
3D Simulations: The firm has developed unique capabilities for performing 3D simulations and animations of designed projects, creating a 3D model with accurate coordinates.
International Projects
Yenon has undertaken major projects in India, Romania, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, Kenya, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, U.S.A., and elsewhere in the world.
