About Notraffic
NoTraffic’s platform is based on artificial intelligence and transforms intersections into a cloud-connected digital network that autonomously manages city traffic.
NoTraffic’s technology maximizes traffic flow, improves road safety, and reduces pollutant emissions while integrating advanced transportation solutions such as prioritizing public transportation, emergency vehicles, and pedestrians, and linking to connected and autonomous vehicles. The platform links all players in the transportation space – private vehicles, public transportation, traffic light systems, pedestrians, and cyclists – enabling optimal urban traffic management.
NoTraffic was founded in 2017 by Tal Kreisler (CEO), Uriel Katz (CTO), and Or Sela (CSO). The company was ranked among the 50 most promising startups for 2024 by “Calcalist.” It employs around 140 people, about 80 at its headquarters in Tel Aviv, and the rest in offices in the United States, including Kansas.
NoTraffic operates in the smart traffic systems market, which is experiencing significant growth and is expected to reach a value of $80 billion by 2027. The company has established distribution agreements and strategic partnerships across the United States and Canada. Currently, NoTraffic operates in more than 30 states in the U.S. and Canada, collaborating with hundreds of transportation departments, including in Phoenix, Arizona; Houston, Texas; Miami, Florida; and Toronto, Canada.
The company has raised around $75 million from investors including M&G, Lool ventures, Grove Ventures, VNV Global, UMC Capital, Vektor Partners, Next Gear Ventures, North First Ventures, Meitav Dash, and TMG. The latest funding round, amounting to $50 million, is being used to accelerate research and development and expand international operations. The company has strategic partnerships with several of the world’s largest technology and infrastructure companies, including Qualcomm and NVIDIA.
In North America, there is a focus on upgrading transportation infrastructure systems, emphasizing technologies that reduce traffic accidents and CO2 emissions. NoTraffic’s solutions help reduce emissions by shortening wait times at traffic lights, offering a clear environmental advantage to the company’s clients.
NoTraffic’s platform, which autonomously manages city traffic lights, also offers a first-of-its-kind Mobility Store – a marketplace of transportation applications and services. For instance, its traffic optimization app makes real-time adjustments to the traffic light network, improving traffic flow, reducing road congestion, and enhancing safety. Another example is apps that prioritize and enable a real-time “green wave” for emergency vehicles.
Examples of the platform’s success can be seen in Tucson, Arizona, where the technology reduced left-turn congestion by about 800 meters and cut wait times at traffic lights by over 25%, in Phoenix, the technology led to a 70% reduction in vehicles running red lights, significantly improving road safety. Another example comes from British Columbia, Canada, where NoTraffic reduced pedestrian wait times at traffic lights by 50%, without affecting vehicle flow.
NoTraffic views its employees as the human capital driving the company’s operations. Employees are an integral part of all stages of development, from planning to implementation in the field, and play an active role in innovation processes and strategic partnerships. NoTraffic offers its employees a hybrid work model, with full trust and a desire to provide maximum flexibility in working hours and location. The company strives to enable its employees to balance work and personal life while maintaining productivity and excellence. Each employee plays a key role in their field, and the company emphasizes personal empowerment, teamwork, and continuous professional development.
The company values community contribution and works extensively for the benefit of society. Company employees volunteered in harvests to help farmers affected by labor shortages and even turned its own headquarters into a donation center. Additionally, NoTraffic encourages its employees to contribute to the community, both financially and through volunteer hours. As part of its commitment to gender equality and reducing societal gaps in Israel, NoTraffic organizes activities promoting students from the periphery to study STEM fields, with the goal of ensuring more equitable representation in the future workforce. The company also collaborates with organizations like “Atlas Junior” to continue supporting these initiatives.
